HSPC Industrial Heat Safety Recommendations Document
Protecting the health, safety, and productivity of workers!
These heat safety recommendations and guidance for industrial work were reviewed and accepted by the peer-reviewed, prestigious journal, GeoHealth.
Each recommendation is related to eight components of a heat safety plan: body cooling, environmental monitoring, hydration, heat acclimatization, physiological monitoring, textiles and gear, heat hygiene practices, and emergency action plan implementation.
Each recommendation was included in the document if it was considered evidence-based, feasible, and clear according to 51 experts comprised of researchers, doctors, industry leaders, and safety managers. These recommendations were created using the Delphi method.
